The Fiat 500 is a car produced by the Fiat company of Italy between 1957 and 1975. Launched as the Nuova (new) 500 in July 1957 it was a cheap and practical town car. Measuring only 2.97 metres (9 feet, 9 inches) long, and originally powered by an appropriately sized 479 cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the 500 redefined the term “small car” and is considered one of the first city cars.
Abarth is a racing car maker founded by Carlo Abarth of Turin in 1949. Its logo is a shield with a stylized scorpion on a red and yellow background. Abarth began his well-known association with Fiat in 1952. You put together two and two, and you will get 1972 Fiat 500. This road-ready 1972 Fiat 500 resides in Bedford, and is a perfect start to what could be a fantastic complete rebuild. With very little rust and some modern upgrades borrowed from its new Abarth cousin, this Fiat could surely be a fine addition to any collection.
