Just when you thought that the last thing that somehow came into contact with Marilyn Monroe was sold at auction, appeared new, never before seen photos and footage of Marilyn Monroe wooing soldiers in the aftermath of the Korean War. In Dallas on August 10 Heritage Auctions will offer these thirteen total, all vintage, estimated on $2,000 each, photos on sale. They are taken by a professional military photographer as he had close access to Marilyn Monroe at various stages of her trip.
The collection boasts three images of her wearing pants, shirt, and combat boots, four images of her wearing her houndstooth dress from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and six images of her wearing her sparkly cocktail dress as she sings on stage. Unfortunately some of these photographs have water damage, creasing, and slight tears throughout.
