RM Auction will present on August 16 – 17 at Monterey some of the most magnificent and extraordinary motor cars ever. From stunning classics to unbelievable Ferraris this spectacular roster comprises over 100 blue-chip automobiles. RM will offer more than 31 examples of Ferrari cars, including the 1967 Ferrari 275GTB/4*S N.A.R.T. Spider and 1953 Ferrari 375 MM Spider.
Other Ferraris include eight examples offered without reserve from the Estate of William H. Tilley, a 1950 Ferrari 166 MM Barchetta, a 1955 Ferrari 750 Monza Spider, a 1961 Ferrari 400 Superamerica SWB Coupe Aerodinamico, and many others, including the Daytona Spider that starred in The Gumball Rally. Other lots that deserve the attention of collectors are 1955 Jaguar D-Type, a 1960 Maserati Tipo 61 ‘Birdcage’, the 1958 Lister-Jaguar ‘Knobbly’ Prototype, a 1953 Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder, a 1976 Chevrolet Corvette Widebody IMSA “Spirit of Le Mans”, a 1986 Porsche 962 Race Car, and the 1974 McLaren M16C Indianapolis.
The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Best of Show winner from 2012, the 1928 Mercedes-Benz 680S Torpedo Roadster by Saoutchik is the star of the Classics slated for Monterey, which also features a 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster by Sindelfingen, 1935 Hispano-Suiza K6 Cabriolet by Brandone and a rare 1931 Duesenberg Model SJ ‘Disappearing Top’ Convertible Coupe by Murphy.
