The most recent contributor in Bang & Olufsen company is an American artist Miya Ando who has designed Transformations – a limited edition collection of our BeoLab 12 loudspeakers. This unique collaboration with the influential artist Miya Ando on the BeoLab 12 project resulted in twenty paintings on aluminium ‘canvas’ that each matches a set of speakers.
Combining traditional techniques of her ancestry with modern industrial technology, Ando transforms plates of anodized aluminium into ephemeral, abstract painting. “I approached the BeoLab 12 speaker as a meta l canvas and sculpture“, Miya Ando explains.
“The surface of metal changes and transforms constantly like light. It is very similar to what happens in music – like art music has the power of transformation and transcendence. Applying my art work and focus on graduation and transformations of colours to an aluminium loudspeaker is a perfect match for me.”
Transformation is a mixture of Bang & Olufsen and artist Miya Ando ability. Danish company has created 20 “set” speakers with Miyas signature – both in colored framework, but also in the form of her name. You can buy speakers for itself – and artwork too – but a complete set is the best choice.
