Montecarlo Automobile, Monaco’s first car manufacturer, has released a new supercar named the Rascasse, first presented a few months ago at the International Autopromotec fair in Bologna. Rascasse – the first ecological supercar has been delivered in Germany to coincide with the 65th Frankfurt Motorshow (IAA). Unveiled to celebrate company’s 30th anniversary this year, this new supercar with a removable roof panel will be built in a limited run of 15 units in three years, each priced from approximately €500,000 ($670,000).
Named after the famous Monte Carlo circuit corner, the Rascasse is reported to deliver 500bhp from its mid-mounted, 5.4 litre V12 sourced from the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph. It can run on both petrol and hydrogen-enriched LPG. This new version will feature a supercharger, a hybrid system and all-wheel drive to help boost power.
According to press release: “The Rascasse embodies freedom and the open sea. It is like being in a roadgoing luxury motorboat with its treated ecowood, leather and chrome finish. Hi-tech mechanical solutions are teamed with a Costa Azzurra blue bodyshape that is aggressive, alluring and aerodynamic.”
