Since 1897, Globe-Trotter have been handcrafting luxury luggage in the United Kingdom for discerning travellers. Timed to coincide with the London Fashion Week, UK’s brand has launched its new Candy Limited Edition Luggage Collection. New line is available from today at its Burlington Arcade store, and will be available at other worldwide retailers over the next two months.
Handcrafted at the brand’s factory in Hertfordshire, the Candy is made from hit-pink vulcanised fibreboard, trimmed in burgundy leather and finished with chrome hardware. It also comes with updated Liberty ‘Queue for the Zoo’ lining! The elephant motif inside the pieces are associated with a fun brand’s story: In 1912 the Globe-Trotter undertook a strength test on one of its trunks at the Zoological Gardens in Hamburg. The trunk successfully bore the weight of a 1-ton elephant! This luggage was a choice for Queen Elizabeth’s honeymoon to Africa, and also Scott’s expedition to Antarctica and Hillary’s conquering of Everest.
Candy collection includes a variety of sizes: the 13” Vanity Case, £495 ($790), 21” Trolley Case, £1,045 ($1,665) and 30” Suitcase with Wheels, £1,285 ($2,050).
