London’s National Cupcake Week (16-22 September 2013) hosted by Food Network UK is designed to help promote the popularity of cupcakes in order to help bakery businesses boost their sales. During this event World’s Most Expensive Cupcake was unveiled and it goes on sale for a staggering £768 ($1,226), but at least it comes with gold. Luxury treat contains Hawaiian AA tea, Chateau d’Yquem wine, Ritz Escoffier, Charbonnel et Walker chocolates and peach and champagne jam, and is partially covered with 24-carat edible gold leaf. This cupcake was displayed in a glass box and guarded by security.

The sweet dress is inspired by Marie Antoinette and designed by Janis Morrison, and boasts more than 300 purple, pink and red cupcakes.
