Seven years ago, the first Pierres de Caractère collection was created to celebrate Van Cleef & Arpels‘ centenary. Today, the Maison is once again paying homage to the beauty of gems with its new chapter, entitled Pierres de Caractère Variations – High Jewelry Collection. Each stone used in the precious collection has its own background giving each piece a vivid story with a hint of escapism.
An exquisite gemstones take center stage of the collection. The Oriental Princess necklace – one of the highlights of the collection – features 42 flaming-red rubies from Mozambique weighing more than 40ct. The two Fancy Vivid Orangy Yellow diamonds weighing 9,04 carats on the Precious Light earrings echo the sumptuous 27.81-carat Colombian emerald that adorns the Pongal ring. Other creations feature magnificent fine and hard stones, such as the pink spinel that lends its sweet hue to the Summer Cocktail ring, the carefully sculpted sea-blue turquoise on the Sea Side ring, or an exceptional Sri Lankan sapphire of 30.20 carats in the Riflesso Azzurro ring.
“From white diamonds to colored gems, from mother-of-pearl to hard stones, the Maison seeks excellence, but also character – that spiritual quality which marks a gem out from its peers.”
