The golden colour seems to has become the main this season. Beside Samsung’s and Apple’s gold variant of its smartphone, HTC is another brand who launches its flagship device. But this one’s a little different. HTC One smartphone is made with REAL 18 carat gold and is limited to only five units, crafted to celebrate the eighteenth anniversary of the MOBO Awards, dedicated to black music in the UK. One of them will be presented to the winner of the Best Newcomer category at the MOBO awards ceremony on October 19.
Phil Blair, HTC President, Europe, Middle East and Africa said, “The best artists have always been given gold discs to celebrate their success, but today most people listen to music on their phone. We wanted to celebrate that fact.”
The company values the gold-plated handset, which was created in partnership with gold customizers Goldgenie, at £2,750 ($4,420), making it the most expensive smartphone in the HTC lineup. If you prefer gold but miss the chance to buy it, you can still opt for Goldgenie’s New 24CT gold Gadgets.
