As announced this summer, Sir Richard Branson’s Private Necker Island is Back! Two years after $70 million Caribbean island home was struck by lightning and battered by winds caused by Hurricane Irene, Sir Richard Branson’s private retreat has finally re-opened and once again available for rent to anyone who can afford the £40,000 ($60,800) per night.
“Necker Island has been my home for more than 30 years and for me it is the most beautiful place in the world,” the Virgin Chief Executive proudly said. “The brand-new Great House is the heart of the island and I’m thrilled with the results. This signals a new dawn for Necker, which I’m very excited about.”
The 74-acre Necker Island, part of the Virgin Limited Edition collection has been inspired by the beautiful features and Balinese style of the original house. With some new and innovative twists, it boasts amazing panoramic views of the Caribbean, the Atlantic and neighbouring islands. Each bedroom in the house has its own balcony, king-size bed and en-suite bathroom. Other stand-out features include a wonderfully relaxed outdoor terrace filled with hammocks and sofas, a cool crow’s nest hot-tub, and the Private Island News team’s personal highlight – a zip-line down to the beach.
It seems Sir Richard was right when he said; “It’s like the old house, but on steroids”!
