Five hundred years ago, the Atlantic Forest of Brazil covered approximately 330 million acres, but today more than 85% of this forest has been cleared and what remains is highly fragmented. In order to preserve these one of the most important eco-regions in the world, Swiss architectural practice, OOS, have designed the Villa Kabru project. This modern and luxurious interpretation of a tree house loft, built in the middle of the Atlantic Rainforest in the state of Bahia, Brazil is protected as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. It is made from 100 years old demolition woods and juts out of the jungle facing the sunset over the rainforest. Available to rent, this stunning villa is only 1 kilometre away from the secluded, paradisiacal beaches of the former fishing village and surf mecca, Itacaré.
This hideaway is built on a platform system and the palpable sense of 360 degrees of openness, which is echoed in every detail. Every room offers opulence, comfort and incredible forest views. The open view terraces covered by a traditional piassava roof, very high ceiling, stretches across the entire front. The villa is one level loft that offers a breathtaking view and a backdrop for holistic massages with essential oils made out of the Atlantic Rainforest.
It consists of an open-fronted living space with kitchen, various hangoutterraces, an open living platform, a lockable bedroom with walk-in closet space, terrace shower and a generous bathing area. A swimming pool, integrated into the wonderful garden landscape, is also available for use. Villa doesn’t lack with modern amenities, so there is it’s own home cinema system (jungle cinema) equipped with an HD projector along with several hundred movies & TV shows and speaker system.
