Last year, Harrods‘ Christmas windows showed Disney Princess dresses collection. Now, this limited edition dresses designed by an elite team of 10 womenswear goes at auction by Christie’s, as part of its annual Vintage Couture sale, and will raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. Renowned designers including Oscar de la Renta, Versace and Elie Saab have created their visions of the iconic fairytale dresses. This stunning gowns are paying tribute to the stories of Ariel, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Snow White and Tiana. All of them have adorned iconic Knightsbridge store’s windows last Christmas.
“These exquisite dresses are really one-of-a-kind fashion items from some of the most celebrated and collected designers this century,” said Harrods store image director Mark Briggs. “They caused a huge amount of excitement when they were first showcased in the Harrods windows and we’re sure fashion aficionados around the world will be thrilled with the opportunity to own something so utterly unique.”
Beside the dresses, the auction will feature a selection of couture pieces by top fashion houses, Chanel, Schiaparelli, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior, as well as a variety of luxury handbags by Hermes.
