Celebrity president and ceo Michael Bayley will host the July 26 seven-night sailing around the Mediterranean, on-board the Celebrity Equinox. During this specail feast, designed for its Celebrity’s Captain’s Club loyalty program members, guests will enjoy sailing from Rome to Barcelona with a series of events. Some of the most exclusive offering are the special dining experiences, of which there are five to choose from. For $95 per person you could enjoy ‘A Taste of Nice’, sampling four courses of Mediterranean delights including local seafood; a ‘Molecular Cocktail Dinner’ with a combination of fusion cocktails presented by liquid chef Junior Merino, and unique dishes inspired by the Qsine restaurant from chef John Suley. You can also opt for magnificent – a recreated menu that Celebrity Cruises prepared at the renowned James Beard House, along with a culinary and lifestyle book. This extra-special event will cost $195 per person.
Two other events on the sailing are the ‘New York Pop-Up’ evening, recreating Celebrity’s pop-up restaurant on land in 2012 and co-hosted by master sommelier Robinson, and ‘A Taste of Spain’ with traditional tapas and samplings of olive oils direct from Andalusia. The evening will be hosted by Celebrity chefs Rufino Rengifo and Thierry Houlbert and master sommelier Robinson, and will pair the Spanish delicacies with fine wines including Riojas, Priorats and Sherry. The prix fixe menu for each event is $95 per person. When talking about entertainment, Tenors Unlimited, The Overtures will perform live singing 1960s hits, as well as UK comedy juggler Pete Matthews, singer-pianist Perry Grant, String Fever, Broadway entertainment through Celebrity’s partnership with Manhattan’s 54 Below: Broadway’s Supper Club and, from Las Vegas, Sin City Comedy.
The president’s cruise will also include some special shore excursions including a scenic tour and tasting at the Tenute Nozzole winery, or Celebrity Exclusives such as a hot air balloon ride over the Tuscan countryside, a tour via Ferrari of the Côte d’Azur and a specially designed helicopter flight prior to an intimate lunch at renowned chef Alain Ducasse’s Provencal Inn.
More precisely, itinerary: departure from Rome (Civitavecchia) and sailing to Nice (Villefranche); Ajaccio (Corsica); Porto Torres (Sardinia); Palma De Mallorca and Barcelona.
