The fourth edition of the World Luxury Expo series, and the first day of World Luxury Expo, Qatar opened today at the magnificent St Regis. The event was officially opened by Mrs Ebtihaj Al Ahmdani, board member of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and chairperson of the medical and educational committees, the first Qatari woman to hold this position.
Al Ahmdani received the Forbes award as the Arab world’s most powerful woman in 2006 and again in 2008 and she was ranked as 19th on the list of the most influential women in the world by Forbes Middle East. She was also recognised as the most influential women in the field of family businesses in Qatar in 2013.
A selection of the world’s leading luxury brands were showcased to high-net worth clientele across the GCC region from November 14 to 16. Some of them include $100,000 space travel by Space Expedition Corporation and its a 1:6 scale model of the SXC Lynx Mark 1 spaceship, as well as Official Formula 1 Opus Bernie Edition, valued at $1 million. Other highlights on display include a rare lithographs and etchings of the biggest names in 20th century art such as Vollard Suite executed by Pablo Picasso, the “Crying Girl” by Roy Lichtenstein; one of the magnificent luxury vehicles – a grand Bentley Mulsanne; Steinway Piano Gallery; award-winning 4K home cinema projector and 4K BRAVIA television by Sony; are 22-carat gold tea by Qirat Tea…to name just a few.
On the concluding day of the World Luxury Expo in Doha, was also revealed world’s most expensive penthouse – Tour Odéon, Monaco. The £256 million ($388 million) penthouse spreads over a generous 5-floor space (3,300 sq metre) in the French Principality in the 49-storey Odeon Tower, Monaco’s tallest building. Along with the 70 apartments (ranging from one to six bedrooms), two 1,200-square-meter Sky Duplexes and the aforementioned five-story 3,300-square-meter Sky Penthouse complete the building.
