BlackBerry’s second collaboration with Porsche Design, came as the P‘9982. BlackBerry says the luxury device is “uniquely designed and expertly crafted,” while Porsche Design calls it an “elite” smartphone. But, it’s actually BlackBerry Z10, but hand-wrapped in a Crocodile Italian leather and stainless steel suit. This modern luxury smartphone has a 4.2-inch touchscreen with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera, and the BlackBerry 10 operating system.
It comes with comes with a customized version of the powerful BlackBerry 10.2 OS. To increase the exclusivity, each phone will carry its special series of PIN numbers, so owners of the P’9982 will be instantly recognizable in the exclusive world of Porsche Design smartphone owners.
Limited to only 500 devices, the Porsche Design P’9982 will be available from 21 November with the exclusive retail launch at Harrods, Knightsbridge, London, as well as Carphone Warehouse and Selfridges. Priced at £1,400 ($2,250), the limited Crocodile edition will be available beginning early December, and will be exclusive to the Porsche Design shop-in-shop at Harrods.
