The Rolex Milgauss watch got Karl Lagerfield touch. Customized by Bamford Watch Department, the special Lagerfeld version of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss timepiece sells for €19,000 ($25,800) and is available at Karl Lagerfeld flagship boutiques in Paris and Munich. The Milgauss, introduced in 1956, was designed was as an antimagnetic watch specifically for those who worked in power plants, medical facilities and research labs (like those in Geneva) where electromagnetic fields can cause havoc with the timing of a watch.
It is capable of withstanding magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss. The new-generation Milgauss, introduced in 2007, features several innovative components that enhance protection from magnetic interference.
The Bamford version, in matte black features a cameo of ‘Kaiser Karl’ at 7 o’clock on the watch face as well as the designer’s signature.
