Far removed from city distractions and seducing travellers with the relaxing rhythm of African island life, the jewel-like island – Bazaluto island will get new luxury resort. Anantara is opening its new luxury resort in Mozambique, the first of many planned across Africa. The five star resort formerly called Indigo Bay Resort & Spa is owned by Minor Hotel Group and Rani Investment.
“We are already present in Tanzania and Kenya through our partnership with Elewana Collection and we are keen to expand further into other parts of this vast continent where there is so much untapped opportunity,” Minor Hotel Group CEO Dillip Rajakarier said.
Ringed by white sand beaches and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, this stunning resort features 44 beach, sea view and pool villas designed in natural harmony with the unspoiled island surrounds. There are an adults-only beach-front pool, a family pool, a spa with an extensive range of treatments and specialist hydro facilities. If looking for some activities, this is a popular destination for scuba diving, fishing, windsurfing, water skiing and wake boarding. Guests can also learn to create the unique tastes of island life with a professional cooking class, or enjoy beach barbeques and private tables on the beach.
The resort is a 15 minute flight away from Vilanculos Airport on the mainland, which also connects Johannesburg with a direct two hour flight.
