Mega movie producer Michael Bay just listed his magnificent Los Angeles estate for $13.5 million. He purchased the home in 1999 for $5.16 million, so now stands to make a large profit on the sale! The 7,919-square-foot, museum-like house in a desirable area between Bel Air and Holmby Hills with unobstructed views of the entire Los Angeles basin, was designed by the late architect Jack Warner, and features clean, crisp lines, state-of-the-art appliances, high ceilings, and an indoor/outdoor flow.
The home is open and airy, with top-of-the-line finishes, lighting, flooring and fixtures. The three-story mansion has 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 4 fireplaces, a family room with a bar, library, maid’s quarters and of course a home theater and a wine cellar. Outdoors, the nearly 1-acre lot features a lush garden, pool and spa, as well as a patio with a kitchen and dining area.
The stunning home is just one of many that Bay owns. In 2009 he purchased another Bel Air home for $10.9 million, and immediately tore it down, upsetting architecture enthusiasts of the existing home. He also owns a 17,500 square-foot Miami mansion that he bought for a staggering $17 million in 2007. In 2012, Bay sold a home that he had owned since 1997 in Santa Barbara, Calif., for a cool $4.9 million.
