The new generation of BMW M3 Sedan and also the first BMW M4 Coupe in the history of the company, were presented to the public. The cars also share the same mechanical platform and powertrain. Besides, M3 and M4 are similar in design to the front of the vehicle, which is characterized by specific black grille and bumper with large air vents. Both models highlights the black roof made of carbon fiber, thanks to which cars have less mass and a typical ” M ” alloy wheels.
The differences are noticeable when you review the silhouettes of cars and a rear parts of the vehicle. What is common to the M3 and M4 is distinctive four pipes chrome exhaust system. The two latest models from BMW ‘s ” M ” classes are driven by the same, 3.0 -liter, six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine that delivers a maximum of 431 hp ( 317 kW ) and maximum torque of 550 Nm. German manufacturer ‘s engineers improved the front MacPherson strut suspension and the rear Mulit -link system, using lighter components.
Both cars will have standard alloy wheels of 18 inches, on which are mounted tires measuring 255 /40, front, and 275 /40, back, while the 19 -inch wheels are optional. BMW has announced that both M3 and M4 from 0 to 60mph comes in 4.1 s, the version with the seven-speed M DCT automatic, while models in which the motor is connected to a six-speed manual transmission to 60mph comes in 4.3 s. Maximum speed in all forms is electronically limited to 156mph.
BMW M3 Sedan will be developed at a plant in Regensburg, while the M4 coupe will be produced in the plant in Munich. First appearance before a wider audience these two models will be at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show in January 2014, and will be at dealerships across the spring. The starting price for the new BMW M3 will be $98,000, while the M4 will cost $100,000.
