The new Mercedes C-Class (W205) will be officialy presented to the general public in January 2014 at the Detroit Auto Show, but Mercedes has already released the first official photos and technical details. The new C-class has 8 cm longer wheelbase compared to the current model, the length is increased by 10 cm, width of 4 cm, and the car is almost 100 kg lighter. New C class has three engines in the offer.
The 2.0L turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine in the C180 model with 115 kW/156Hp, 2.0L turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine in C200 with 135 kW/184Hp and 2.2L four-cylinder diesel engine in the C220 BlueTEC with 125 kW/170Hp. It will be offered a six-speed manual gearbox and seven-speed 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission, and optional will be offered and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Except as sedan, the new C-Class will re-appear in the station wagon version (T-Modell), whose sales per earlier information will start in September 2014. C-class coupe will be about $2,600 more expensive than the sedan, and will offer more space for passengers and luggage than its predecessor.
The new C-Class will be more dynamic and Mercedes will focus on younger customers. The new C class boasts COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS, DISTRONIC PLUS, PRE-SAFE ® Brake, Brake Assist PLUS and Cross-Traffic Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist and much more. There will be an optional Airmatic suspension, and a driver will be able to choose between Comfort, Eco, Sport and Sport Plus modes. Mercedes will produce the new C class in America, in the Tuscaloosa plant in Alabama. Mercedes will also offer diesel engines as well as the AMG and sport versions of this model.
