Quite unusual collaboration between two leaders in their fields resulted in one stunning product. Brooklyn-based Grado Labs and Bushmills Irish Whiskey have teamed up to to produce a limited edition set of headphones partially made from whiskey barrels. Designed in the period of five months by actor Elijah Wood and music composer Zach Cowie, the headphones are crafted from recycled white oak wood barrels from a Bushmills distillery and custom brown leather headbands chosen because, according to Cowie, “it does have a huge shelf life, but it will also show its age.”
The Bushmills & Grado Labs Headphone come in a limited edition wooden box and headphone pouch, and will cost you $395.
