You just have to go to Paris to see some of the best Christmas decorations. Recently we admired gold mirrored reindeer at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris and now we’re staying in the City of Light to see one more outstanding creation – World’s Largest Christmas Tree made of Ladurée macarons. This unusual tree, comprising of 8,000 brightly colored Ladurée macarons is part of Christmas decoration at hotel InterContinental – Le Grand. Nearly 14 feet high tree was inspired by the Paris Carnival, which can be seen in the tree’s bold Harlequin’s colors of green, yellow, black, blue, and red with a touch of silver, along with a pompous Elizabethan ruffle collar. Beside this gigantic main tree, 27 other Ladurée macaron trees of various sizes can be found throughout the hotel. Ladurée’s team of 50 spent two weeks creating the macarons used, plus one night of setting it all up at the hotel.
For this original decoration Paris’ InterContinental opted to team up with world-renowned luxury bakery Ladurée since they both began business in the year of 1862. This Christmas tree display marks 150 anniversary.
