A rare Hermès 32cm Matte Geranium Porosus Crocodile & Black Togo Leather Sellier Kelly Bag with Feet is now definitely world’s most exclusive handbag. It was sold for $125,000 at Heritage Auctions’ December 10-11 Holiday Luxury Accessories Signature Auction in Dallas, despite its estimated price of $60,000. “All Hermès lovers have to hear is that this bag is one-of-one and they will know that it is an extraordinary piece,” says Matt Rubinger, the director of luxury accessories with Heritage Auctions. “It could be the world’s most collectible bag.”
According to the Heritage Auctions, the bag was designed by Christian Astuguevieille, a French artist that participated in Hermès’ Petit H Workshop – an endeavour that gathers designers to repurpose rare materials for the brand. It has never been used and offered in pristine condition along with Hermes dustbag and box. It is sized at 12.5″ width x 12″ height x 4″ depth.
Other highlights of the auction include the sale of another Hermès bag, which also featured crocodile skin with palladium hardware and sold for $65,625.
