A group of French artists called Sisaprod gave the people of a Paris an unexpected Christmas present late last week – Gift-Wrapped Metro Train. The group had the idea last Sunday and it took them less than a week to take action. They took over an entire subway car and wrapped it with pink gift paper and transformed it into a festive photo opportunity. Sisaprod members then posted the pics to their Facebook page for all to see! The seats, the backrests, the supportive rails and poles, the floor, the ceiling and just about every surface around the carriage’s entrance was covered with a cheerful pattern of pink, orange and red illustrated presents.
When asked about the purpose behind the act, they simply said: “To enjoy ourselves and to give other people pleasure.”
Unfortunately, the RATP (Paris’ metro authority) has not seemed to enjoy this Christmas gift and immediately removed the train traffic.
Sisaprod don’t quit, they have ambitions to take things further next time. “If RATP want to do a project with us, then we could decorate an entire train,” said Clea Polar, one of the founders of Sisaprod.
