Forty eight design houses have partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), the National Football League (NFL), and Bloomingdale’s to create one-of-a-kind helmets for Super Bowl XLVIII. These one-of-a-kind helmets will be auctioned off with 100% of the net proceeds benefiting the NFL Foundation, a nonprofit organization which supports educational football programs, health and safety measures in sports, and community health initiatives. Dressed in Mohawks, Swarovski, furs, mesh, embroidery, floral arrangement, stripes and other creative designs, each helmet is unique artistic expression.
Designers include Alexis Bittar, Betsey Johnson, Billy Reid, Catherine Malandrino, Cynthia Rowley, Dannijo, Dennis Basso, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, John Varvatos, Kenneth Cole, Lela Rose, Badgley Mischka, Monique Lhuillier, Nicole Miller, Rachel Zoe, Rebecca Taylor, Stacey Bendet for Alice + Olivia, Tadashi Shoji, Todd Snyder, Vince Camuto, Yigal Azrouel and more.
The helmets will be unveiled in Bloomingdale’s iconic 59th Street windows and online on January 15th, where fans can bid until February 4th,showcased online where fans can bid Jan. 15 – Feb. 4, on the retailer’s fashiontouchdown website. The minimum bid for each helmet will be $248, celebrating the 48th Super Bowl which is taking place across two states.
