MAC Cosmetics has teamed up again with Rihanna for the launch of a new glamorous Viva line. The 25-year-old star is a new face of Viva Glam, having designed a new collection of lipstick and lipgloss, known as lipglass, that is launching this January as part of her MAC’s Viva Glam collection. MAC will donate 100% of the purchase price to fighting HIV and AIDS.
Earlier this month Rihanna tweeted a sneak peak of her latest project – “Here’s my new AD Campaign with @MACcosmetics for #VIVAGLAM !!!”Coming soon to MACcosmetics.com #staytuned’ and she added “#VIVAGLAM #MACgirlz.’
This latest collaboration between MAC and Rihanna came about after the success of RiRi Woo – a true matte red lipstick from her 2013 line with MAC. The newest color might look like RiRi Woo, but is more matte red with a hint of purple, creating a richer, more velvet-like red finish.
According to Rihanna the difference between these two products comes down to “a little bit of frost, so the texture is more shiny – not as matte as RiRi Woo.”
Rihanna also revealed in her Instagram caption that the new lipstick will be hitting stores in January.
She wrote, “#VIVAGLAM @MACcosmetics #RIRIheartsMAC #January2014 !!! We really worked to make this one of a kind for VivaGlam, right down to the packaging, which has never been done! So shoutout to @MACcosmetics and #ViViaGlam for going all the way with this!!”
