Baselworld 2014 is approaching in big steps, and OMEGA already presented two novelties. The Swiss luxury watch manufacturer has announced that it will reintroduce the Speedmaster Mark II, as well as introducing the brand new Constellation “Pluma”. The Speedmaster Mark II which was originally published in 1969, was subjected to an update and now features an automatic caliber (Co-Axial caliber 3330) with SI14 “silicon balance-spring, as well as a tachymeter scale, which can be read perfectly even in the worst lighting conditions.
This timepiece features a streamlined case that was powered by the same space-tested, hand-wound caliber 861 found inside the famous Moonwatch. This novelty case and bracelet in brushed stainless steel is available in two versions: One features a gray dial with orange chronograph hand, the other waits with a matt black dial with black and white, coated with Super-LumiNova hands on.
The “Pluma” (Latin for feather) is the newest addition to Omega’s understated Constellation family. Among the most striking design elements of these 27 mm models is its ornate mother of pearl dials. This brand new watch features 11 diamond indexes and a diamond-filled bezel and are powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial caliber 8520. The Constellation “Pluma” is available as a model made of stainless steel with a blue dial and a bi-color variant of stainless steel with 18K red gold elements and a white dial.
Baselworld 2014 is scheduled for March 27 to April 3, 2014.
