Here is something special for sneaker and fashion fans. It’s the collaboration between NIKE and Givenchy’s creative director – Ricardo Tisci. Although announced few weeks ago, Tisci’s new line for Nike is already been unveiled. Titled Air Force 1 Nike + R.T., the collection features four pairs of sneakers based upon the brand’s iconic, the Air Force 1, first released by Nike in 1982, reinterpreted in white and black. This collaboration shouldn’t exactly come as a surprise considering that Tisci himself says he owns 125 pairs of them.
“The shoe is universal yet somehow very personal. I travel all over the world, and I see people wearing the Air Force 1, and they wear it in so many different ways. And so I was thinking, what is the essence of the Air Force 1? And how do I take that essence and make my own statement?” explained Tisci.
“For me the Air Force 1 is not about gender, it’s not about a particular city, nor is it about a certain style. The community decides. It’s democratic. It’s love,” continued the designer.
The Nike R.T. Air Force 1 Collection will release in two distinct packs starting in spring 2014. The collection will include the Nike R.T. Air Force 1 Lo, Nike R.T. Air Force 1 Mid, Nike R.T. Air Force 1 Hi, and the Nike R.T. Air Force 1 Boot and be available globally at select retailers and on Nikelab.com. All styles will be available in white from March 1, and in black from April 1.
