In 1998, the Franck Muller Group decided to create an independent watchmaking exhibition under the evocative name of World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie (WPHH), organised at the manufacturing head office of Watchland, in the village of Genthod, on the outskirts of Geneva. This year was the same place and the same occasion but Franck Muller’s 24th edition of the WPHH, from January 19th to 24th 2014. The exhibition attracted over 2,m500 watch aficionados, professionals and media from across the globe.
The Group’s 9 brands presented their complete new collections of watches and jewelry over an exhibition area of space of more than 800 square meters. Demonstrating its unbounded creativity, the group (Franck Muller Jewellery, Pierre Kunz, ECW, Rodolphe, Barthelay, Backes & Strauss, Martin Braun, Pierre Michel Golay, Smalto Timepieces along with their partners Cvstos and Roberto Cavalli) highlighted its vast savoir faire in the field of Haute Horlogerie.
According to the press release: “Generously presented in a streamline décor, the creative collections from the House of Franck Muller captivated the attention of one and all. Stealing headlines was the sporty yet stylish Vanguard collection. Calling for clean and futuristic design, it breathes individuality with its harmonious contours, flawless finesse and impeccably balanced proportions.
Another praised head turner was the in-house designed and manufactured Curvex Slim mechanical collection. Asserting the classic Curvex case in a contemporary form, it elegantly combines aesthetics with technical prowess.
Curtains were raised on the in-house poetic complication – the Giga Gong Tourbillon. With a rhythmic chime that strikes every hour, this manual watch gives a new dimension to the renowned Giga Tourbillon.
Yet another undeniable Franck Muller classic was the new 7 days Power Reserve Skeleton line. Detailed craftsmanship and pioneering mechanism, this in-house crafted treasure is the quintessential rendering of the art of watchmaking.
Evoking excitement was the dainty Sunrise collection that conjures refinement and grace. The audacious new Gothique timepieces, the entirely diamond-encrusted Heart models and the Iron and Black Croco with the vivacious Color Dreams numerals were a few other novelties that debuted at the WPHH this year.”
This year’s WPHH once again showed why became one of the most important Fine Watchmaking & Jewellery exhibitions.
