“There’s only one word for glass from Vetro Vero: intense. Exquisitely crafted, yes. But essentially, it’s intense: passionate, strong, focused,” said Regina Connell, Handful of Salt. Vetro Vero (True Glass, in Italian), is a glass studio dedicated to creating refined, hand-blown and lead-free crystal in Venetian colors. Josie Gluck and Michael Schunke is the Pennsylvania-based duo behind the glass. They use two basic color palettes – one bright and another that’s a little softer and perhaps more neutral. Most pieces are detailed with 24-karat gold leaf and accents. Their glass is smooth and clean, with a strong consideration for proportion and design as defined by function.
Their collection of goblets is now enriched with the new color – lilac. Vetro Vero goblet shapes are the contemporary fusion of Venetian traditions and the Vetro Vero vision: pure materials, good craft and clean design. Each goblet is one-of-a-kind, absolutely unique, completely handmade, and signed by Michael Schunke and Josie Gluck. The Vetro Vero lilac color is a warm, soft purple.
This lillac version with 24k gold leaf details will cost you $330 per piece. The same price is for others (plum, azure, green and straw) goblets, while individual black goblets retails for $440 each.
