At the upcoming BaselWorld 2014, the Swiss manufacture Maurice Lacroix will unveil their new timepiece – the Masterpiece Gravity. This is the brand’s first timepiece to feature a fully silicium assortment. The result is stunning masterpiece made of matherial three times lighter than the steel, and is very similar to glass but that requires just a little maintenance. The case measures 43mm and comes in satin-brushed and polished or sandblasted and anthracite PVD-finished stainless steel.
A key element of the Masterpiece Gravity watch is the “box” in sapphire glass which is forming a dome magnifying the oscillator with an impressive 3D effect. The indicator of hours and minutes is confined inside a white lacquered dial, with domed center and retained by two plated screws. It includes diamond markers on the “Contemporary” model and Roman numerals on the “classical” model. The watch has an exhibition caseback, affording a view of the delightfully decorated self-winding movement, featuring Grand Colimaçon shaped Côtes de Genève motif.
Inside is the Maurice Lacroix automatic manufacture Calibre ML230 with 35 jewels, 18,000 vph (2.5Hz) and a power reserve of 50 hours. The Calibre ML230 is its 13th manufacture movement, reaffirming the company’s know-how and technical progress.
This stunning timepiece comes on a brown or black crocodile strap with a folding clasp with an anthracite PVD-finish standard buckle.
