KISS rock legends Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, co-founding partners in Rock & Brews restaurants opened its restaurant in Paia, Maui on January 25. The opening of Rock & Brews Paia was the rock-icons’ first in the Hawaiian Islands. The restaurant pays tribute to the familial warmth and character that is synonymous with Pa’ia, while respecting the vibrant Rock & Brews brand look and feel. It feature American fare — wings, burgers, sandwiches, pizza and salads — and an extensive collection of craft beer served amid concert-themed decor, including large-scale photographs and artwork of bands and album covers.
“It is our goal to always offer local favorites on our menus,” said Stanley. “In Paia, we will offer a number of popular Hawaiian dishes, local craft beers and signature tropical cocktails.”
Stanley and Simmons said they have opportunities to open Rock & Brews around the world, but they are planning a methodical expansion of the brand. Four locations are open in Southern California, one in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico.
“We are delighted to introduce Rock & Brews Paia and welcome families in our friendly, energized environment,” said longtime Maui resident Mark Blietz. “Our goal is to become a popular gathering spot for residents of Pa’ia and surrounding communities, and a welcoming respite for visitors enjoying the beautiful Hana Highway scenic drive.”
The two KISS front-men are associated with the restaurant company as the concept came together at one of the band’s concerts in 2010 when tour manager Dave Furano, his merchandising industry brother Dell and restaurateur and hotelier Michael Zislis got to talking, then brainstorming.
