Breitling has worked with automaker Bentley since 2002, and their latest result of this collaboration is the watch which is tribute to the automaker’s biggest engine, found in the famous Mulsanne limousines. Called the Breitling for Bentley 6.75 Midnight Carbon, the model features a 49mm case in black steel, with a knurled bezel inspired by Bentley’s famous radiator grilles. The dial also exudes dark elegance, enhanced by a vertical openworked motif offering a glimpse of the movement.
The caseback springs its own surprise, since the five-spoke motif reprising the distinctive design of Bentley wheel rims also appears in black against the metallic background. Functions include hours and minutes, a central 1/4th of a second chronograph hand, the date at 12 o’clock, small seconds at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o’clock and a 30-minute totalizer at 9 o’clock.
The engine of this timepiece is the COSC certified self-winding caliber 44B. This movement beats at 28,800 VpH and is fitted with 38 jewels.
Limited to only 1,000 pieces, the Bentley 6.75 Midnight Carbon comes on a rubber strap with a central raised motif echoing that of the bezel. Sheer class, clad in black and signed Breitling for Bentley.
