More than 90 automobiles will be offered at RM Auctions Amelia Island Auction 2014, scheduled for Saturday, March 8th on the grounds of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Amelia Island, Florida. As we early announced, selection of automobiles from the Malcolm Pray Collection will be among the headline offerings. The heart of his collection, a 1937 Delahaye 135 Competition Court Torpedo Roadster by Figoni et Falaschi, needs almost no introduction, as it is permanently written into the canon of automotive design.
Always with an eye for the unique, Malcolm assembled other hard-to-attain classics, including a 1958 BMW 507 Series II Roadster and 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Series II Cabriolet by Pininfarina. Both examples are rich with history and are offered from long-term ownership, as Malcolm was only the second owner of both!
In total, the 2014 RM Amelia auction will see 16 motor cars from the collection of the late Malcolm S. Pray Jr. on offer.
From the collection of Bob and Sandra Bahre comes this 1932 Packard Twin Six Individual Custom Convertible Sedan by Dietrich. It’s the first time that this car has been available for sale in 33 years, and it’s the first time it’s being offered publicly.
Also on offer will be 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 R – long considered the pinnacle of early Carroll Shelby and Ford collaboration, 1949 Jaguar XK120 Alloy Roadster rom the estate of Charles “Chuck” Swimmer among others.
