Huge Tibetan Mastiff sold in China for almost €1.39 million ($1.94 million), so the one year old and 90 pounds weights animal probably become the most expensive dog in the world, reports the Qianjiang Evening News.
Wealthy buyer splahed out 12 million yuan (€1.39 million) for golden-haired mastiff at a “luxury pet” fair on Tuesday in the eastern province of Zhejiang.
Often been compared to the huge lion due to its long black and red hair, the Tibetan Mastiff is a favorite dog of rich Chinese. It’s the symbol of their social status and the last year the prices of these powerful dogs rose to unprecedented heights. Owners describe them as loyal dogs and great guard house.
A second, red-haired pup fetched almost €720,000 ($996,500).
In 2011, one red-coloured Tibetan mastiff called Big Splash sold for a reported £971,000 ( over €1 million) to a coal baron in the north of China.
