Oprah doesn’t excite a lot for the selling of her famed Harpo Studios. On the contrary, she started completely new adventure when teamed up with Starbucks and the tea experts at Teavana to create her own brand of chai tea. Teavana Oprah Chai tea is result of Oprah’s personal tea passion and the deep expertise of Teavana. So, the new product is a distinctive blend featuring a bold infusion of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and cloves, blended with loose-leaf black tea and rooibos. Customers will be able to enjoy the blend as a handcrafted latte or loose-leaf tea.
Winfrey said that she’s previously received and turned down opportunities to promote everything from cars to cosmetics to clothing. “None of that felt organic,” she said. But, she added, the Starbucks Teavana brand did.
Teavana Oprah Chai tea will go on sale at Starbucks and Teavana starting on Apr. 29. For each product sold, Starbucks will make a donation to the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation, which funds the girls school that the talk show host started in South Africa.
