David Brown Automotive (DBA) is the name of the new British luxury car brand that in April officially announced its “new British sports car”. The car was developed under the code name “Project Judas” , but its official name is Speedback GT. Premiere was held on 17 April at the Top Marques Monaco event. The Company DBA point out that the car combines design inspired by classic cars (Aston Martin DB5 and DB6 from the sixties) with the most advanced technology and superior performance and comfort.
DBA Speedback GT is based on the Jaguar XKR, and is powered by 5.0 -liter V8 supercharged engine that develops 375 kW/510Hp and 625 Nm (combined with a six-speed automatic transmission). Acceleration from 0 to 60mph is 4.6 seconds, and top speed is limited to 155mph.
The new company was founded thanks to the businessman David Brown, who teamed up with Alan Mobberley, former head of design at Land Rover, to create this car. When it goes on sale, Speedback GT will be available in a limited number of copies (up to 50 units per year). As far as price, it will be announced next month.
