Bacardi launched The Royal Brackla 35 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky – its most expensive whisky to date. For its global premiere, the travel retail arm of Bacardi has teamed up with DFS Singapore, so this 35 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is now exclusively available in Singapore Changi Airport, costing a whopping $15,000.
The rich, complex and luxuriously smooth signature character of the whisky (said to have notes of apples, toffee and vanilla on the nose, and flavours of dark chocolate, biscuit and spice), is complemented by the delicate oak tones imbued by the finishing in sherry casks.
This new expression has been bottled to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Royal Brackla Highland distillery, which first opened in 1812. Each bottle is etched with the commemorative dates ‘1812-2012’ and individually numbered in the limited edition of 100.
To celebrate the brand’s history as the first Scotch whisky to be granted a royal warrant, which was bestowed by King William IV in 1833, the new bottle demonstrates “symbols of royalty”. These include a metal crown that encases the bottle, the orb represented by the sphere of the bottle, and the scepter symbolised by the crystal stopper. The Royal Brackla master crest is also visible on the bottle and luxurious presentation box.
