From now holidaymakers are able to enjoy the ultimate underwater experience without getting wet. Fiji’s private Laucala Island will be the first resort in the world to offer a DeepFlight Super Falcon submersible experience. Safely and comfortable nestled inside the two-person submersible, guests can enjoy gliding through the crystal clear waters of the South Pacific Ocean with 360 degree views of coral reefs, abundant fish, sharks and other sea creatures. Someone compare this travel with James Bond’s adventure, and there’s the reason for that, since the DeepFlight Super Falcon is similar to the submarinemobile used in the 1981 Bond flick For Your Eyes Only.
“We look forward to offering yet another exclusive and authentic experience to our guests with the new submersible,” said Laucala Island General Manager Andrew Thomson. “The guest experience at Laucala is all about the ultimate immersion with nature and the island itself – this experience helps bring them even closer to that goal. The waters off of Laucala Island, Fiji are the most amazing in the world, and we are confident this “only at Laucala” experience is one that guests will never forget.”
The 21-foot-long sub with 9-foot wingspan, the ride can dive up to 1,500 feet and reach speeds of six knots (almost seven miles per hour). The Falcon can also do barrel rolls underwater, dive straight down, make sharp turns and a bunch of other things to assist with up-chucking your vacation brunch. The perfect way to explore all underwater beauty at this place, such as one of Fiji’s most legendary dive sites, the Great White Wall, a dazzling vertical wall blanketed in soft white coral, just 40 minutes from the resort.
Created by British inventor Graham Hawkes for Hawkes Ocean Technologies, who also developed the machine used in the movie, the experience will be available exclusively at the resort from July 1.
