Three billionaires were in bidding war for Los Angeles iconic Fleur de Lys. French-style estate has sold for $102 million to a buyer who paid in cash. This world famous mansion was sold by socialite Suzanne Saperstein, who custom-built the mansion in 2002 with her then-husband, Metro Networks founder and billionaire David Saperstein. The 50,000 square foot mansion was commissioned in 1996 and completed in 2002 by architect Richardson Robertson III of Robertson Partners. It first came on the market in 2007 for a mind blowing $125 million. It stuck to the asking price over the years after delisting in 2009 and reappearing in 2011.
Located in the upscale Beverly Crest area, The Real Estalker has dubbed the estate an “unapologetically palatial white elephant.” The magnificent palace is set on a 4.6-acre estate and is said to include 12 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, and ballroom. It’s also been featured in several feature films.
Built out of French Limestone, the 100-room house which is set on a 4.6-acre takes its inspiration from Vaux-le-Vicomte – a palace outside Paris. It features 12 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, and ballroom which alone can accommodate 300 people. It also boasts marble walls and floors, gold-leaf panelled ceilings, large doorways and floor-to-ceiling windows as well as rare antiques that are believed to be included in the sale.
