Elvis Presley’s home in Palm Springs where he and his wife Priscilla enjoy honeymoon is about to hit the market for $9,5 million just in time for the wedding season. According to Realty Today, Elvis and Priscilla leased the home for about a year. They signed the lease before their Las Vegas wedding in 1967 and paid $21,000 a month for the suave residence. A copy of the lease hangs on the wall today. The residence was purchased by Boston-based investor M.L. Lewis through a trust in 1987 for $487,500 who has owned it ever since. Since he is a huge Elvis fan, the house is a museum stocked with Elvis memorabilia, including wedding pictures of the couple.
Their romantic getaway is about 5,500-square-feet and is composed of a series of concentric circles under a batwing-style roof. There isn’t a single square room in the home. Nestled on roughly 1¼ acres in the Vista Las Palmas neighborhood, the house was built in 1960 and has five bedrooms and five bathrooms. It also has a pool, waterfall features at the front and tennis court.
The home is now available for guided tours and has become a popular destination for Elvis fans. Each year in May, a “Weekend with the King” event is held at the house. This year the event will feature a concert with tribute artists impersonating Elvis, Buddy Holly and others.
