25 years ago Meridian built the world’s first digital loudspeaker. To celebrate this special occasion, they launched a new Special Edition series of DSP Digital Active Loudspeakers. This special edition includes three models: DSP8000SE, DSP7200SE and DSP5200SE. All feature new tweeter with beryllium dome for outstanding response and wide bandwidth, wide bandwidth analogue electronics, to deliver the best sound from high resolution recordings, all drive units clamped with machined rings to provide enhanced stability, resulting in less coloration. Meridian’s advanced EBA (Enhanced Bass Alignment) technology ensures that all the frequencies in the music arrive with the correct timing, for a sound that is clearer and more authentic – more ‘alive’.
“The new Special Edition DSP Digital Active Loudspeakers from Meridian provide the most revealing, lifelike and powerful performance of any Meridian loudspeakers to date,” says Bob Stuart, one of the bran’s co-founders and current Chairman and Chief Technical Officer. “Developed from expertise honed over more than 25 years of true research and continual system development, these new Special Edition loudspeakers specifically benefit from Meridian’s scientific research into how humans perceive sound, or ‘how we hear,’ in particular focusing on how our brains process live sound.”
The new Special Edition series of DSP Digital Active Loudspeakers are available to preview at selected events over the coming months.
