To celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Icelandic volcano’s eruption, luxury watch label RJ-Romain Jerome has designed a new timepiece, the Eyjafjallajökull-Evo. This newest member of the Eyjafjallajökull-DNA collection is a true testament to Mother Earth’s temper, and comes in a new retro, vintage looking case crafted from 43mm black PVD-coated steel designed by Daniel Haas. The main feature is a lava stone as the base of the dial ehile the tips of the minute and hour handsare crafted as grounded aircrafts.
The watch is powered by the mechanical self-winding movement RJ002-A, which beats at 28.800 vibrations per hour and provides about 40 hours of power reserve.
The watch comes on an alligator strap with black PVD-coated steel pin buckle. The Eyjafjallajökull-Evo is limited to only 99 pieces and is priced at CHF13,950 (app. $15,900).
