A collaboration between two remarkable brands, Italian luxury watchmaker Parmigiani and French crystal maker Lalique resulted in a stunning timepiece – the Clock 15 Days. This marvel of clock has taken a lot of time, painstaking developing and intricate manufacture, so no wonder it bears such names. Parmigiani worked with the larger components, and Lalique with the thinner and smaller elements of the timepiece.
The surface of the clock boasts five panels and the crystal their made of has been adorned with the typical Lalique motif, the fountain of Coutard. Each panel is a masterpiece of Art Deco and Art Nouveau. The detail of the closely-knit designs, rounded shapes and the semblance of the droplets are finished with a glittery shimmer on the panels and a satin finish on the flat surfaces.
The clock features not just aesthetic beauty but also mechanical genius as the clockmakers incorporated a Maltese cross stop-work for the power reserve indicator that is located outside the clock. Governing the winding of the barrel, and counting its rotations, the Maltese cross is a fundamental part of the power reserve in all timepieces.
The Clock 15 Days is a limited edition and is available in three different crystal colors – deep blue, red and classy white. Just 15 of each color will be manufactured, 5 units per year until 2015, when the production officially ends.
