As we already inform you an impressive selection of signed and period jewels from private collections, some with noble provenance will be offered on sale at Sotheby’s Geneva auction of Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels, scheduled for May 13, 2014. The highlight of the sale will be the ‘Graff Vivid Yellow’ diamond, that expected to reach between $15 million to $25 million. This is a sensational daffodil yellow diamond weighing 100.09 carats, mounted as a ring. Of exceptional beauty and extraordinary fire and brilliance, this gem is among the largest Fancy Vivid Yellow diamonds in the world, appearing on the list of the ‘World’s Largest Cut Diamonds’ in Ian Balfour’s Famous Diamonds (2008).
A white round diamond of 103.46 carats, also cut by Graff and described by Sotheby’s as one of the largest brilliant-cut diamonds in the world, is also going on the block with an estimate of $3.5-$5 million.
A smaller but stunning 31.34-carat white diamond, “The Victory Diamond” which belonged to Florence Gould, daughter-in-law of the American railroad magnate Jay Gould, is estimated at $5-$8 million.
