Located in the Costa Rican rainforest, the Costa Verde Resort features an astonishing hotel suite set inside a vintage 1965 Boeing 727 airplane. This beautifully refurbished 727 perched up in the trees in Manuel Antonio with a view of the Pacific Ocean is nothing less than spectacular. The airplane was brought back to life after being abandoned at San Jose airport. And is now converted into a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite with a kitchenette, flat-screen TVs, a dining room, a terrace with an ocean view surrounded by the Costa Rican wildlife.
The teak wood interior creates an amazing wow factor. There is a specially crafted observation deck, which has been built on top of the plane’s wing, and looks out into the lush green jungle…with the sounds of the ocean, frogs, birds and squirrels it is truly natures paradise.
“The airplane is perched on a custom-built platform (nearly 50 feet) up from the ground,” a spokesperson for the Costa Verde.
“At this height, its guests will be able to enjoy scenic ocean and jungle views both from the airplane windows and the handcrafted deck, which has been built atop its wings.”
The rain forest resort charges guests the same price to sleep in the converted plane as a room at The Ritz London. That will be between $250 and $500 per night, depending on the season.
