According to sources from Germany, Mercedes plans to offer a new crossover called GLB, and it is a model that was inspired by the G-class, but actually it will be based on the next generation of MFA platform which is used on the A and B classes. More specifically, the new Mercedes GLB will be lifestyle vehicle, whose design should be inspired by the concept model, Ener-G-Force. Apparently it will be available a version with seven seats, and the standard version will only have drive to the front wheels, while the option should be available 4MATIC all-wheel drive, and also a some kind of off-road package.
Therefore, Mercedes GLB could be placed above the GLA, as slightly larger and more practical, and probably more expensive version. On the other hand it could be described as a compact version of the G-class.
