Boats inspired by cars aren’t nothing new, but this luxury yacht features only the best from boat, car, and plane. Claydon Reeves’s Aeroboat is a luxury speedboat inspired by the legendary Spitfire fighter plane and is powered by Supercharged Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine. Rebuilt and converted to fuel injection, the Merlin will be detuned, producing “only” 1,100 horsepower. This will still be enough to get the Aeroboat to speeds of 75 to 95 knots, or around 86 to 109 mph.
Described as a combination of speed and sophisticated elegance, this yacht boasts the sleek lines of the famous Spitfire fighter, including an authentic air intake scoop, aircraft inspired switchgear and the shock-mounted forward seats, a nod to the Spitfire’s own landing gear.
Aeroboat will be on display at the Salute to Style party at the Hurlingham Club, London between 16-19 July. Only 10 of the new superyachts will be built and one could be yours for a mere £3 million ($5 million).
