Google has made a car without steering wheel, and will make a hundred of them, said Sergey Brin, co-founder of the technology giant. As stated this morning at a technology conference in Southern California, Google will make a 100 prototype vehicles that will drive itself – meaning no brakes, no steering wheel, and no pedals. Instead of all that, there are only buttons for “start” and “stop”. When you press the “start” function of driving takes a combination of sensors and computer calculations.
“Our software and sensors do all the work,” the company wrote in a blog post. “The vehicles will be very basic—we want to learn from them and adapt them as quickly as possible—but they will take you where you want to go at the push of a button.”
So far, Google has driven hundreds of thousands of kilometers by “Lexus SUV” and “Toyota Priuses” with this special equipment. These were the first prototype cars with no steering wheel that Google made for itself.
These vehicles won’t be on sale, and it is unlikely that Google will be involved in the production of cars. The company said on its blog indicated that they would prefer to work in partnership with other companies.
