A growing number of automotive companies, like Mercedes, Audi, BMW, in their offer, besides cars, have bicycles. Now, Jaguar joined them, but in a somewhat unexpected way. They has developed a sophisticated bike, designed for top competition formats, Tour de France. Jaguar is their knowledge and energy, together with Team Sky, merged with the company Pinarello, which is specializes in the development of competitive bikes.
To be more precise, in the Jaguar do not work experts for bikes, so, Pinarello has developed geometry of frame and structure, while the Jaguar “helped” with their virtual wind tunnel CFD ( computational fluid dynamics ) and presented the final appearance of the frame and the wheels on the bike called Dogma F8, which have been tested in the real wind tunnel.
Of course, the goal was to optimize the airflow around the bike frame and minimize turbulence. Compared to the previous model Dogma 65.1, aerodynamic drag was reduced by 26.1 %, while the aerodynamics of the frame is improved for a whopping 40 %. Driver, Chris Foom, praised its low weight, as well as its strength.
If you are a passionate fan of the Jag and want to have a carbon bike Pinarello Dogma F8, made from the finest Japanese materials Torayca T11001K, good news is that the bike will be in the standard range of the Italian manufacturer. Unfortunately, the price is still unknown.
